This is sort of a book review (Be the friend you want to have)
Hi! Okay. If you love reading then comment and if you read. And seriously enjoy Cynthia Lord's book then follow and comment!
I read Because of the Rabbit by Cynthia Lord a while ago. Actually, I keep reading some parts over again. I do that with books I really like. But anyway, I love that the main character was homeschooled. The part I am kinda like, meh, about is that she, Emma, went to school.
Her brother went to school and was talking about it all the time and spending less time with her. So she decides that she wants to go to school to see what she's missing out on. Not that there is anything wrong or terrible about being a school kid. I'm sure there are awesome, even fun, parts to it. But she wasn't missing out on nothing! The place she lives, in the story, sounds amazing. I mean, I guess she could be lonely without her brother or any other siblings, but come on. The story kind of looks down on homeschooling in a way I don't really like. Being a homeschooler is awesome!
The part I absolutely love about the book, though, is the point the author makes. Be the kind of friend you want to have! I mean, I myself am not very good at following that advice, but it's good advice nonetheless. You can't expect other people to be a certain way if you aren't willing to do the same. For example, the girl, Emma, wants a friend who will let her be herself, yet she doesn't want her brother to change. She wants him to do everything that includes her. That is not letting him be himself.
This applies to a lot of things and I just wanted to bring it up. I will post, soon hopefully, more about this and with the addition of another book I read recently that kind of relates. I hope you enjoyed reading this. (And that you like reading😏😜) I will try to post more often. Tell me if you like theses kind of posts and what you want me to post about.
THANKS FOR READING AND HANGING OUT!
