Helpful Bible Verses
Hiya! Here are some bible verses that are helpful at times:
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
👆 To me, this verse is a reminder. If GOD is love and I want to be like HIM then I have to work on the things mentioned. Being patient, kind, not envying, not boasting, not being proud, not dishonoring others, not being selfish or, as said in the verse, self-seeking. I should try not to be easily angered and remember for later what wrong anyone else has done so that I can hold it against them. And I should not be happy when someone does something wrong or feel good about any of my sins, but instead rejoice in the LORD and be happy about good things. I should always trust in JESUS and in what is right, hope for things of GOD and have faith. I don't fully understand the protect and preserve part.
1 Peter 2:21
For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.
I like this one!!! 👆 Because JESUS died on the cross, I can now see to follow HIS good example and not be afraid of death because I know that JESUS will take me to be with him.
Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
👆I like knowing that if I have the HOLY SPIRIT in me then these fruits can be shown in me, which leads to the next one.
Matthew 7:16-17
16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
👆 I want to be known by good fruits and not for evil.
