Snippet #2 - proverbs 15:1
Hey guys! I'm late with snippet #2 but here it is.
Lab was quiet as he thought. Then he looked at Jase and asked, "If you did apologize to her, would you really mean it?"
Taken aback, Jase stared at him. "Of course I would," he responded defensively.
"Hey, don't get upset," Lab said cautiously. "I'm not attacking you, but, from what I've seen, you don't like Mari any more than she likes you. If she snaps at you, you snap right back at her. Vice versa."
Jase shook his head. He didn't believe what was said to him, yet somehow he had a feeling that he was in the wrong.
Lab shrugged. "I'm just sayin', it might be easier to apologize to her if you really mean it and you don't have hard feelings. Holding a grudge won't help." He added, "A soft word turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
Jase sighed. He wanted to argue that Mari was always the one to start the fight, but he knew it wasn't entirely true. And he understood that even if she had started the fight, he was wrong for being mean right back. His heated reactions only fueled the fire.
