Don't step out on your own

Stepping out on your own should be scary.

Everyone likes to go with the flow. Some people, like me, dream of doing things differently. We see these movies and videos everywhere about people who made a difference, a change in the world, by turning a different way from the rest of the world. What everyone else said was right might have been wrong. Or maybe people were making choices, but somebody realized there's a better way and acted on it. Whatever the reason, whether anyone stood by them or not, these people did what they thought was right. They went a new way.

Now being alone is scary. It's much easier to follow a path someone else has travelled than to pave your own. Have you ever wanted to step onto an unknown path, but instead planted your foot in dense jungle, so you immediately retreat back to the main road? Yeah! That unknown path you were looking for, it was created by somebody else. There's nothing unknown about it. And all the confidence you felt because, somewhere inside your brain, you knew you weren't the first to go this way crumbled the moment your foot landed on the vines of uncharted territory. The truth is, you're too scared to take a step into the unkown. (Yeah, there's a little Elsa for ya! 😉)

Most people chicken out when it comes to going where no one else has gone. We'll walk the pass less travelled in a heartbeat. At least you know what to expect. (And yes, knowing that you won't know what to expect counts as expecting something. Watch Sonic, the part where he pushes Pretzel Lady and Donut Lord off the building. Dr. Robotnik will tell you.) Going a different way on your own is risky, especially because your faith is in yourself.

     Proverbs 3:5-6

NIV:    Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not upon your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.

NKJV: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not upon your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

So the fear of walking a new path should strike fear into your heart, but walking a different path with GOD directing is the safest way to go. Now this might also be terrifying. We all fear what we do not know. In the end, having faith in JESUS, that He will never leave you and knows best is the truest courage and the most praiseworthy move one could make. Don't step out on your own.

 Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me

It is not by our own strength and courage tha we step out, but in faith in JESUS CHRIST

I hope this post blesses you. Thanks for reading and hanging out!.
